Certificates
Which certificates can I issue?
Landlord Gas Safety Records (CP12), LPG certificates, T&P records and Non-Domestic certificates — unlimited on every paid plan. Each one carries your business details, Gas Safe registration number and signature, and goes to the customer as a PDF by email.
How is it faster than what I do now?
Because the app remembers. Customer details, appliance lists and last year's readings pre-populate the new certificate — you check, update what's changed, sign on screen and send. Most engineers find the certificate is finished before they leave the property, which is the whole point.
Can the customer sign on my phone?
Yes — signatures are captured on screen, and your own signature can be saved once and applied to new certificates automatically.
Getting started
I'm with another app — do I have to start from scratch?
No. Export a CSV of your customers from your current app, import it into GASpilot in a couple of taps, and every customer — names, addresses, phone numbers, emails — is matched automatically and ready to use. And it works the other way too: you can export everything back out to CSV at any time. No lock-in.
What devices does it work on?
Anything with a browser — iPhone, Android, tablet, laptop. Install it to your home screen and it works like a normal app. One account syncs across all your devices, so certificates started on the phone can be finished on the laptop.
Does it work without signal?
Yes — GASpilot is offline-first. Basements, plant rooms and rural jobs aren't a problem; everything you do is saved on the device and syncs to the cloud when you're back in coverage.
Breakdown AI
What exactly is Breakdown AI?
An AI diagnosis assistant for boiler faults. Give it the make, model and fault code and it ranks the most likely causes for that specific model, gives you the diagnostic checks in the fastest order with expected readings, and lists the parts you'll probably need. You can then report your readings and it narrows the diagnosis with you. Full details here.
Can I trust what it says?
Treat it like a sharp second opinion, not a substitute for your judgement. It's right impressively often and honest about uncertainty — values it's not sure of are flagged for checking against the manufacturer's instructions, and ID/AR classification decisions always remain yours as the engineer on site, per GIUSP.
Is there a usage limit?
Fair-use limits of 25 diagnoses and 150 messages a day — generous enough that you'll never normally notice them. Breakdown AI is included in the free trial and the Premium plan.
Your data
Where is my data stored?
On your device (so the app works offline) and backed up to your account in the cloud, synced across your devices. Your customers' details are used to run your account — never sold.
What happens if I stop subscribing?
Your data isn't held hostage. You can export customers, invoices and records to CSV at any time, and if you come back your account picks up where it left off.
